Personal Styling – There’s no age limit!
More so than ever before ladies are celebrating being a woman for longer……
Yes years ago when a woman reached 55 say, they’d given up perhaps! Why? Was the menopause making their decision…for instance “well that’s it then, I’ve worked my socks off, brought up the children, looked after my husband, now there’s no need to make the effort as I’m no longer attractive, not feeling like a woman anymore so there’s no reason to get dressed up”!!?
No more of the above thank goodness….there’s women celebrating their lives all over the world especially when they reach a certain age shall we say. Celebrating who they want to be for themselves, looking at their wardrobes and making themselves glamorous whatever time of day. It’s a well deserved time too.
It doesn’t matter what budget you have, I’m able to work with it to get you on your gorgeous road of clothes excitement.
It some respects, it’s a lot tougher out there for the under 40′s due to what’s seen in the media. They’re subjected to so many thousands of images each week, making them feel insecure and unhappy with how they look hence their confidence dropping to an all time low.
There’s so much pressure, ladies you need to start looking at yourself in the mirror for who you are, forget the airbrushed celebs, fake nails, eyelashes and fake tan and look at your female beauty.
It’s being comfortable in your own skin. This is your first step and it will have a huge impact on you moving forward with your wardrobe. We all have areas we don’t like but we can learn to accept and love them too.
Did you know a high % of celebrities who go on a TV set really don’t look like anything they appear to be in the magazine? Please remember who mainly heads up the publishing department of these magazines – MEN!
Talking about men…..men actually prefer natural beauty with a little bit of an enhancement. I see nothing with a little bit of surgery if after years of considering. Some people willy-nilly go ahead and then regret it after. Of course the men in the publishing department know what will make a fast buck in their industry.
So forget the preaching that you hear and read – there’s no need for any pressure…..and there’s no patronising remarks from me either.
I love my job because I’m lucky to see such dramatic changes from when I first meet someone more than my writing and other duties in my fashion world.
There’s all aspects I love including what creations the designers produce from haute couture to high street and seeing what clothes the people out there actually buy and wish they hadn’t for whatever their reasons.
I am more than just a stylist. Everyone I meet is different to the next from all walks of life and I treat them individually too. Generally having a chat on the phone, an email or 2, getting to know them as a person, their lifestyle and then full steam ahead on researching before their appointment/s.
It’s great to work with anyone’s budget so no one loses out. Hey I’m not tied to anyone/shop either, being freelance means I can go anywhere as long as the size and look is right for my client.
A lot of my work comes from my website here and recommendations from others.
Here’s a little something from what I received recently from a couple of my ladies:
“I feel like I have a whole load of new outfits, and I’ve worn two of my new combinations already and have received compliments about them.
Thanks for the list of things to look out for. My family will think I’ve had a personality transplant but suddenly I am desperate to go shopping!
Once again, thank you for all you have done for me, I actually feel excited about getting dressed in the morning!
Take care,
Rebecca
PS I saw Emma’s photos of the wedding and I thought Vanessa looked stunning, really elegant – a real credit to your skills”.
Appreciation from another lady because I made her feel so at ease
and have given her a fashionable future for her to enjoy and feel comfortably stylish in.
